Starting at Playmates Children’s Day Nursery
The first days
We want your child to feel happy and safe at the nursery. To make sure that this is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on how best to help your child to settle into nursery life. The nursery has a policy about helping children to settle, a copy is enclosed in the prospectus and is available on request.
Extra sessions
Extra sessions at the nursery may be available should you wish. Please contact a relevant member of staff to arrange. However, the swapping of sessions is not permitted.
Clothing
The nursery encourages children to gain the skills that help them to be independent and look after themselves. These include taking themselves to the toilet and taking off - and putting on - outdoor clothes. Named clothing which is easy for them to manage will help them to do this.
Medication
The nursery can only administer prescribed medication. This action will have to be entered onto a medical form by the parent/carer who will be asked to give specific details of the medicine and dosage etc. They will need to sign the form before leaving the building.
Parents/carer responsibilities
It is your responsibility to inform the nursery of any change to your personal circumstances, changes of address, or any other contact details.
Giving notice of intent to leave
Should you wish to withdraw your child from the nursery due to personal reasons, we will require two week written notice.
Concerns
If you do have any concerns regarding your child or the care provided to your child please, please do come and talk to the nursery manager.
Playmates Children’s Nursery hopes that you and your child enjoy being members of the nursery and that you both find taking part in our activities interesting and stimulating. The staff members are always ready and willing to talk with you about your ideas, views or questions.
